![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't know why but I had a bunch of weapons unlocked by the first store in the game and a lot of advanced suits so the difficulty was nulled form the start, but I still enjoyed dismembering necromorphs, made me feel more powerful. It makes sense for Isaac to get better at killing necromorphs as time goes on. There are less puzzles, less claustrophobic halls and a lot more action set pieces, you can definitely sense the higher budget this game had, and I'm all for it. The first one had a really slow pace in the combat department, here it's a lot more like the Aliens of the series whereas the first one is the original Alien. I guess it isn't as influential as the first game but it perfects everything that the original Dead Space put on the table.įirst of all I really appreciate the more action oriented gameplay. I feel like anytime there is a discussion about this series it's alway about the original, i've never seen as much praise directed towards Dead Space 2, even though it's arguably a better game. So this game was a very welcome surprise. Going into Dead Space 2 I wasn't expecting it to top it's predecessor at all for some reason. I finished the original Dead Space a couple of weeks ago and was pretty surprised by how good it still held up, especially in the horror and atmosphere department.
